This fall, the Perth Museum invites the community to step back in time with A Death in the Family: A Victorian Mourning Experience. Running October 4, October 18, and November 1, this immersive experience offers guests a rare opportunity to uncover mystery, tradition, and intrigue inside the historic Matheson House.

The Council of the Town of Perth and Perth Fire Services wish to extend heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Volunteer Firefighter Brad Fielding, who passed away suddenly on September 2, 2025.

The Town of Perth will end the requirement to place bag tags on regular garbage bags and introduce a simpler bag-limit program. Tags will remain available for any additional bags beyond the bi-weekly allotment.

The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment seeks to rezone 53/55 Craig Street from the Residential Third Density (R3) zone to the Residential Fourth Density (R4) zone to permit a three-storey apartment building with a total of 30 units and 30 parking spaces. Site-specific relief is being requested from front yard setback, lot coverage, landscape and open space, residential, visitor and barrier-free parking space rates, and bicycle parking requirements.

The proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment seeks to re-zone the property at 26 Craig Street from a Residential Third Density (R3) zone to a site-specific Neighbourhood Commercial – Exception (C3-X) zone to add Fitness Centre as a permitted use. The existing building is proposed to be retained with interior renovations and façade upgrades proposed.

Please be advised that in accordance with the Town of Perth Public Notice By-law No. 5122, notice is hereby given that a Special Committee of the Whole Meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. to discuss the 2024 Budget Carry Forward and Financial Update - August 2025.  

Step back in time and celebrate a century of storytelling as the award-winning Perth Museum marks its 100th anniversary. On Saturday, August 23 from 12 to 5 p.m., the community is invited to join in a special celebration of the Museum’s centennial.

Perth is once again preparing to host its signature end-of-summer celebration as the Perth Night Market returns on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 5 to 10 p.m. Set against the backdrop of Perth’s historic downtown, this free event invites visitors to experience an evening filled with art, entertainment, and the unique charm of a small town with big spirit.

The Town of Perth has issued a conditional building permit for 79 Wilson Street West. This permit applies only to site preparation and excavation work and does not authorize any footing, foundation, site servicing, or above-ground construction at this time.
