Mayor's Declaration - Seniors Month - June 2026

WHEREAS the Province of Ontario has formally recognized the month of June as Seniors Month through enacting the Seniors Month Act, 2024;

WHEREAS seniors have contributed immensely and continue to play a vital role in the life and vibrancy of this community;

WHEREAS seniors support this community as active leaders, mentors, caregivers, volunteers and valuable colleagues and partners;

WHEREAS their past and present achievements deserve recognition and appreciation, and their life stories offer important insight and inspiration;

WHEREAS the health and well-being of seniors are significant catalysts to the overall health and well-being of this community;

WHEREAS the wealth of knowledge and experience they share with future generations continues to enrich us all;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor Judy Brown, on behalf of the Town of Perth, do hereby proclaim June 1 – 30, 2026, as Seniors Month in the Town of Perth.

I further encourage all residents to join communities across Ontario in celebrating and expressing gratitude for the lifelong contributions and enduring accomplishments of seniors in our community and throughout the province.
