The Town of Perth is aware of the ongoing police investigation in the Last Duel Park area and is working closely with emergency services to support their response.
Road closures remain in effect in the surrounding area to allow police to safely carry out their investigation.

Is public transit coming to Perth?
No. Council has approved an update to the Town’s Transportation Master Plan—not a public transit system.
We’ve seen headlines suggesting that public transit is “on the way.” To clarify: Council recently awarded a contract to prepare an updated Transportation Master Plan (TMP). This is a long-range planning study. It does not launch or fund a transit service.

Update – Duplicate Pre-Authorized Tax Withdrawals Resolved
The duplicate withdrawals affecting some residents enrolled in the Town of Perth’s pre-authorized tax payment plan were fully reversed as of Friday.

Request for Applications to the Joint Lanark County 2026 Election Compliance Audit Committee
The municipalities of Beckwith, Carleton Place, Drummond/North Elmsley, Lanark Highlands, Mississippi Mills, Montague, Perth, Smiths Falls, and Tay Valley are currently seeking interested applicants with accounting, auditing and legal experience, from professionals who are required to adhere to codes or standards of their profession and from individuals with in-depth knowledge of the campaign financing rules for candidates and registered third parties of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, for appointment to the Joint Lanark County 2026 Election Compliance Audit Committee.
