Update on Public Meeting Pertaining to Ontario Land Tribunal Case Regarding Proposed Subdivision Issues

The Town of Perth is providing an update on the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) proceeding related to the proposed subdivision by CAIVAN (Perth GC) Limited (Case Number OLT-23000534), including the status of the anticipated Public Meeting.

Following Tribunal-led mediation, the details of the settlement were reviewed by Council in principle in fall 2025. Council indicated its intention to host a Public Meeting to share information with residents once the formal Minutes of Settlement are finalized and advance to the next stage of the Tribunal process.

At this time, the settlement remains subject to approval by all parties to the proceeding. Until approval is provided and the Minutes of Settlement complete, the Town is not in a position to share the settlement details or schedule the Public Meeting.

The Town remains prepared to host the meeting as soon as the necessary approvals are finalized. Once confirmed, the Minutes of Settlement will be posted publicly, and a meeting date will be announced. The timing of the Public Meeting is directly connected to the completion of these inter-party approvals within the Tribunal process.

The Town understands that residents are seeking clarity on next steps and remains committed to transparency. Updates will be shared on Engage.Perth.ca/Caivan as soon as additional information becomes available.

Questions regarding the process may be directed to the CAO, Michael Touw, at cao@perth.ca.
