Town of Perth Kicks off 2026 Budget Engagement with new Community Sessions

The Town of Perth is inviting residents to have their say in shaping the 2026 municipal budget through an online survey and two new community drop-in sessions called Coffee with Nev.

The 2026 Budget Survey asks residents to share their views on Town services, spending priorities, and how they feel about potential changes to tax levels. The feedback will help guide decisions as Council works to balance service delivery with financial sustainability.

To give residents another way to engage, Coffee with Nev sessions will offer a chance to sit down one-on-one with Treasurer Nev Jande for a 15-minute chat about the budget and ask questions in a relaxed setting.

“We know the budget can feel complex, but it affects every part of daily life — from roads and recreation to fire services and community events,” says CAO Michael Touw. “These opportunities give residents a chance to learn, ask questions, and tell us what matters most.”

The survey and sessions are part of the Town’s ongoing commitment to open, transparent budgeting and meaningful community input.

The 2026 Budget Survey is open until Sunday, October 19 on Engage.Perth.ca/2026-Town-Budget. Residents can also book a Coffee with Nev time slot through the same page.

Coffee with Nev sessions:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 15 from 4-7 p.m. at Michael’s Table
  • Friday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hourglass
