Settlement Reached in Ontario Land Tribunal Case Regarding Proposed Subdivision

A settlement has been reached in the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) case between the Town of Perth, Lanark County, and CAIVAN (Perth GC) Limited (Case Number OLT-23000534). The details of the settlement were presented to the OLT at a virtual hearing held on Aug. 6, 2026.

The proposed mixed-use subdivision will contain residential, which will include singles, townhouses, and stacked townhouses, along with commercial properties and an affordable housing block.

The complete decision issued by the OLT, including the Draft Plan of Subdivision and settlement, can be found on Engage Perth.

As the OLT has rendered its final decision, the subdivision will now move through the final stages of the Planning process. There are no further opportunities for public comment on the OLT decision itself. Additional opportunities for public input may occur through the Environmental Assessment process for the proposed bridge and may also arise as other components of the development move forward. Following completion of Planning Agreements, the subdivision will proceed through the Building Department.
