Perth Night Market Brings Entertainment to Every Corner of Downtown
With the Perth Night Market just around the corner, downtown Perth is getting ready to come alive with shopping, dining, live music, street performances, and family-friendly entertainment on Saturday, September 12 from 5-10 p.m.
More than 130 artisans, makers, food vendors, and local businesses will be part of this year’s event. But there’s plenty more to discover beyond shopping, with entertainment happening throughout downtown all evening.
This year’s lineup includes Bollywood dance performances by Kuljit Sodhi, the Rideau Cloggers, live music from the Ompah Dom Band and Mike Creech, and roaming performances from King of the Swingers and Bry the Magic Guy. Families can also visit the Stealing the Bloom petting zoo in Code Park, learn about the Grey Rat Snake during demonstrations at the Bandshell, or have their portrait drawn by caricature artist Doc Z. As the evening continues, Rockabilly Joe will bring his circus act to the streets, while musicians keep the entertainment going throughout downtown.
“There’s so much happening throughout downtown that you really can’t experience the Perth Night Market from just one spot,” says Kathryn Jamieson, Manager of Tourism & Culture. “We encourage people to wander, explore the vendors and local businesses, catch a performance, grab something to eat, and see what they discover along the way.”
A free shuttle service will make getting to and from the Perth Night Market easy, running from 2:30 to 10:30 p.m. with stops at designated parking areas around town. Road closures will also be in place downtown to create a safe, pedestrian-friendly event.
