Neighbours, Volunteers, and Dogs Set to Unite for Perth Dog Park Grand Opening

The Town of Perth is excited to announce the official opening of the Perth Dog Park, located at Darou Farm (2845 Rideau Ferry Road). The community is invited to join the celebration on Saturday, October 4, from 2–4 p.m.

The Friends of Perth Dog Park at Darou Farm, who are organizing the grand opening event, raised over $30,000 for the project. Their efforts were matched by a $30,000 contribution from the Town, making the park a true community–municipal partnership. The celebration will feature live music, vendors, and local organizations, making it a true community gathering.

“The Perth Dog Park has been years in the making,” said Mayor Judy Brown. “It’s thanks to the incredible support and determination of local residents that we are able to celebrate this milestone today. This park is not just a place for dogs to run and play. It’s a testament to the strength of our community.”

Work on the Perth Dog Park will continue in the new year, with additional features planned to enhance the experience for both dogs and their owners. The Dog Park is also part of a larger vision for Darou Farm, which is proposed to become a developed natural space dedicated to passive recreation and community enjoyment.

“This is just the beginning,” said Cathy McNally, Director of Community Services. “We’re thrilled to see the dog park open and look forward to working together on future enhancements at Darou Farm.”

The Town of Perth and the Friends of Perth Dog Park extend their thanks to the many community members, organizations, and donors who supported the project and helped make this long-standing community wish a reality.
