Mediation Continues in September as Parties Work to Address Proposed Subdivision Issues

Tribunal-led mediation continues in relation to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) case concerning the proposed subdivision by CAIVAN (Perth GC) Limited (Case Number OLT-23000534).

Mediation sessions have taken place on February 14, March 16, April 30, May 30, and August 19, and have brought together representatives from the Town of Perth, CAIVAN, legal counsel, expert witnesses, and the Tribunal-appointed mediator. The next session is set for September 23. As discussions are ongoing, a hearing date has not been scheduled.

The Town of Perth remains committed to working towards a resolution that reflects the interests of the community while supporting responsible, well-planned growth. The mediation process provides an opportunity to carefully assess how future development can best align with Perth’s values and long-term planning objectives.

As the matter involves legal proceedings, Town staff and Council are unable to comment on the case. Questions regarding the process may be directed to the CAO, Michael Touw, at cao@perth.ca.
