Discover the Heart of the Holidays in Perth This Season

There's something special about Perth during the holidays. From bustling Christmas markets and festive concerts to visits with Santa and cherished community traditions, the town comes alive with the sights, sounds, and spirit of the season. Whether you're searching for the perfect gift, planning a family outing, or simply looking to soak up some holiday cheer, there's plenty to discover in Perth this year.

“There's something about the holidays that brings out the very best of Perth,” says Kathryn Jamieson, Manager of Tourism and Culture. “Our local businesses, community groups, and volunteers put so much heart into creating these experiences. Whether you're visiting for the day or celebrating close to home, we invite you to slow down, explore, and enjoy everything our community has to offer.”

Shop the Season

Find something special for everyone on your list at Perth's holiday markets and craft shows. The season kicks off with the Kris Kringle Craft Fair (November 1), followed by the Holiday Baking and Knitting Sale (November 7), Perth Farmers' Christmas Market (November 14), Christmas Craft, Vendor & Bake Sale (November 15), Jingle Bells Bazaar (Nov. 21), St. John’s Merry Market (Nov. 22), Holly Jolly Art Show (December 5–6), and Nick of Time Christmas Craft Show (December 5). It's the perfect opportunity to discover handcrafted gifts and one-of-a-kind treasures from local makers and artisans.

Downtown Perth is also getting into the holiday spirit! The Downtown Heritage Perth BIA invites shoppers to explore local businesses during Once Upon a Christmas (November 21) and the Shop, Stamp & Win promotion (November 15–December 20). Both offer fun ways to celebrate the season while supporting the shops and boutiques that make Perth's downtown so special.

Round out the season with Christmas Classical by Candlelight (December 18) and A Musical Celebration of Christmas (December 20).

Get creative with Christmas craft workshops throughout November and December, step back in time with Victorian Christmas by Candlelight (November 28), or gather with friends and neighbours for the Festival of Lights Drone Light Show (December 4), one of Perth's most anticipated holiday traditions.

The celebrations continue with the Civitan Seniors Christmas Dinner (November 29) and Community Christmas Day Dinner (December 25). Ring in the new year at the Civitan New Year's Eve Party (December 31), or start 2027 with a splash at the Polar Bear Plunge (January 1).

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town!

And don't miss the Perth Santa Claus Parade on December 5, when festive floats and holiday cheer take to the streets. Additional photo opportunities with Santa are also available by appointment on December 6.
