Save the date! This is a Downtown Heritage Perth BIA event, so you will find full details on their website.

Pick up your SHOP, STAMP & WIN CARD at any downtown retail business or restaurant in Perth, when you make a minimum purchase of $10.00. As you shop from store to store, each business will stamp your card for every $10 spent. You will receive a maximum of 10 stamps per purchase. When your card is completed, hand it in to any downtown business and ask for your next card.

**Please note, there is a maximum of 10 stamps per purchase.

Prizes:

In early January we will draw names from the Shop, Stamp and Win cards.

Festival of Lights (The trees are lit from November 19, 2022 - January 3, 2023)

Festival of Lights at the Crystal Palace

From November 19th, 2022 to January 3rd, 2023, the Festival of Lights will be ongoing. There will be continuous viewing of the decorated Christmas trees from the outside of the Crystal Palace. The trees will be lit from 4:00p.m. until dawn. You can view the trees inside the Crystal Palace during events only.

This Studio Theatre Perth production is going to be amazing. Under the experienced direction of Carolee Mason and with Brad Mills rehearsing over 30 local Perthites of all ages and conducting a band of 7 musicians, this could be the star on top of your tree, the piece of holly on your flaming Christmas pudding.

There is something about the charm of Downtown Perth that brings visitors from all over. During the holiday season, when the air is crisp and the snow starts to fall, Downtown Perth comes alive with our own special small town holiday magic.

Mark your calendars for November 26, and come visit us for Once Upon a Christmas.

Once Upon a Christmas is a day to enjoy a storybook Christmas in Beautiful Downtown Perth, Ontario.

The downtown streets will come alive with choir music of Christmas carols, Fire pits and hot chocolate to keep you warm and cozy. Enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride and wander the streets to shop and dine in our many stores and restaurants.

Bring the kids too, as they will enjoy visits with Santa and his elves and face painting at Code’s Mill.

The trees inside the Crystal Palace will be lit for your enjoyment along with vendors and entertainment.

Take a step into your own Hallmark-style story and visit us in Downtown Perth.

Meet & Greet with Santa & Mrs. Claus (November 26, December 3 & 10, 2022)

Bring your family and friends down to the Code's Mill Building in the Atrium to see Santa and Mrs. Claus. Bring your cameras to have your pictures taken with Santa.

CP Holiday Train (November 28, 2022)

The CP Holiday Train is happy to be back for its 24th year supporting food banks and food shelves across our network by raising money, food and awareness for food insecurity issues. Volunteers with The Table Community Food Centre will be present to collect your monetary donations (as well as non-perishable food items). 

Linda Grenier and Rubies in the Rough choral group will perform Christmas Carols, beginning at 7:30pm at the CP rail yard at the end of Herriott Street in Perth on Monday, November 28. The Holiday Train will be arriving at 7:40pm. Tenille Townes & Aysanbee will be performing from 8-8:30pm.

Several things to note before you arrive:

  • the show can ONLY be seen from the west side of the tracks
  • there is NO PARKING on site. Please park in the downtown area and walk a couple of blocks to the site. The exception is Accessible (Disability) Parking in the Shandex Lot - please note this will be monitored, a valid Disability permit is required on your dash. 
  • there are NO WASHROOMS on site.
  • the train can NOT be seen from any other crossing in Town; the train will return to Smiths Falls at the end of the show. It may be possible to see the train from Highway #43 as it arrives in Town.
  • this event is completely outside and requires walking in to the site. Please come dressed for the weather. The timings provided are estimates only from CP Rail.
Home for the Holidays at Perth Museum (November 30-December 24, 2022)

Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the holiday season as you explore the period rooms in the 1840s Matheson House. Drop in for a self guided tour and discover the traditions followed by the Matheson family and others living in the Georgian and Victorian eras. 

 

Admission is by donation. Perth Museum is located at 11 Gore ST E and is from open Wednesday to Sunday from 10-5. On December 24, the Museum will close at 2:00 pm, then remain closed until the New Year.  

Fireworks & Men and Women of the Tay Choirs @ Festival of Lights (December 2, 2022)

Perth Tourism celebrates Christmas in downtown Perth on Friday, December 2nd with the Annual Festival of Lights. From 5:30p.m. adjacent the Crystal Palace, the combined choirs of the Men and Women of the Tay will perform classic Christmas carols around a bonfire, as people start to gather for the fireworks! Yes, the fireworks are back and will start at 6:15p.m. from the Drummond St. bridge. Viewing is best from the west side of the Basin Parking Lot and Tay Street, which will be closed for this purpose.

The Table Community Food Centre will have volunteers present with refreshments, in exchange for monetary donations or non-perishable food items for the Good Food Bank. Immediately after the fireworks, the Palace will be open for everyone to view the beautifully decorated Community Christmas Trees.

Perth Citizen's Band Christmas Concert (December 4, 2022)

On Sunday, December 4th at 2:00p.m., the Perth Citizen's Band presents their annual Christmas Concert, taking place at the Perth Legion (26 Beckwith St. East).

Tickets - $10 per person or $20 per family.

The Women & Men of the Tay Christmas Concert (December 7, 2022)

For over two decades the Women & Men of the Tay Choirs have brought the joy of choral music to our communities. This year’s Christmas Concert features a plethora of favourites sure to delight every listener … from classical to commercial … a treat for all ages, and a chance to sing-along as well. Seating is limited!

Christmas at the Palace (December 10, 2022)

Christmas at the Palace is back on Saturday December 10! Drop in from 10-3 as you shop for the holidays in Perth. You’ll love the choir performances, children’s crafts, the chance to view the trees up close.  

 

Event Schedule 

  • 10:00: The Stewart School Choir 

  • 12:00: The Queen Elizabeth School Choir  

  • 2:00: Community Yule-Tide Sing-Along with Perth’s own Father Christmas

The school choir performances are expected to last about 15 minutes each. The Sing-Along will last about 45 minutes. In between, children can colour and craft among the decorated trees.  

 

Free admission. Donations to YAK accepted.

Lynn is one of Canada's most accomplished artists and a voice we all know and love. This is going to be a very special night filled with stories, comedy and amazing music. It is a magical experience for sure!

Downtown Perth's Kids Christmas Shopping Day

Join Downtown Perth shops on Saturday, December 17th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. for a Kid Christmas Shopping Day!

Each child that makes a purchase at one of the participating businesses will be given a ballot for a chance to win a $150 gift basket donated by the Rideau Candy Shoppe or set of Buddy the Elf pillowcases donated by The Plaid Cow. Limit one ballot per child shopper per store. The more stores you shop at the more chances you have at winning!

The winners will be announced on December 20th and winners can claim their prizes at the Rideau Candy Shoppe.

Be sure to keep an eye out for Santa’s Elves as you walk throughout downtown from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. brought to you by Perth Tourism!

Participating businesses will be giving out free chocolate to young shoppers while quantities last.

What an event this will be!  Anna brings her East Coast roots to the stage to ring in the season.

Anna is from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and has played her fiddle to captivated audiences throughout North America and Europe for over twenty years. Having collaborated with some of eastern Canada’s most renowned artists, in 2005 she became the principal fiddler for the Juno nominated critically acclaimed production DRUM! and has just finished a 15 month run with the hit and award-winning show ‘COME FROM AWAY’ the Toronto production. Outside of theatre work Anna is influenced by her working-class Celtic ancestry, and fuses the traditional Cape Breton music of the Scottish Gàidhealtachd with a modern percussive vibe. While weaving other cultural influences into her music, this multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and song-writer uses her dynamic performances to give listeners a modern taste of history and culture. She is a successful solo artist singer/songwriter having been nominated for an East Coast Music Award and a Music Nova Scotia Award for her first album Reel to Reel. Her second album ‘Wherever You Go’ was just nominated for a 2019/2020 East Coast Music Award. Recently, Anna was the 2020 winner of the Ottawa Capital Music Award for solo artist of the year!

Perth Community Christmas Day Dinner (December 25, 2022)

We are please to welcome you to the 38th Annual Perth Community Christmas Day Dinner!

After a gap of two years due to the Covid Pandemic, The Perth Christmas Dinner Association Committee has decided that we are able to host the Christmas Day Dinner again. We will again offer a sit-down meal at 12 noon, but will provide better spacing of tables and serve a buffet style meal to improve safety for both diners and volunteers. Takeout meals and meals for delivery will also be available.

Further details will be available on the website as Christmas Day approaches. We expect to open our registration for volunteers and deliveries / take-outs in early December. CC's on the Rideau Holiday Market (November 19, 2022)

It's the third annual CC's Outdoor Holiday Market! The event will be held Saturday November 19 at CC's on the Rideau (1030 Rideau Ferry Road) from 10am-3pm. $2 ENTRY (kids 12 and under free), door proceeds will go to a local charity to be announced in the coming weeks.

We have 26 local vendors confirmed, hailing from Rideau Ferry to Perth to Smiths Falls to Kemptville. Items that our vendors are offering range from beautiful Christmas ornaments and decorations, handmade jewelry and crafts, locally sourced and cut charcuterie boards and other wood items, homemade soaps and candles, paintings and art, baked goods - of course, and lots lots more. Check out our Facebook page and this event page for daily showcases of the vendors that will be attending.

The amazingly talented and local musician Tom Watson will be providing live music while you shop! You can also enjoy some food from our outdoor woodfire grill and warm up with some hot beverages from our full-service bar while taking advantage of this opportunity to get your holiday shopping done! What better time to celebrate and support local while taking in some holiday cheer!
