Want to report a pothole? See a tree that's looking a bit tippy? Has a street light burnt out? Report it!

If the request is an emergency, a call may be placed to (613) 267-1072 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).

Roads

The municipality operates an urban road network consisting of approximately 98 lane-kilometers of roadway. There are approximately 40 kilometers of sidewalks throughout the municipality. Eight large bridges are located throughout the municipality to convey traffic and pedestrians over the Tay River.

To report a pothole or other road issue, please submit the Report a Problem Form.

View this live map of road closures and other road related information.

Truck Route

Need to bring a wide load through Town? Take a look at our Truck Route and contact the Superintendent of Surface Operations Tony Mack at (613) 267-3311 ex 2265.

Road Allowances

Please note that standard road allowances are 20 m (66 ft.) wide.

  • This means that the Town or the road authority will usually own the road surface [8.2 to 10 m (28 to 33 ft.) wide] plus a boulevard extending 4 to 4.5 m (12 to 15 ft.) from the back of the curb or the edge of the pavement to the actual limit of the road.
  • No planting or other change to a boulevard should be made without checking with the Town of Perth.
  • If you are uncertain about the property line please phone the Environmental Services Department at (613) 267-3311, extension 2233

Winter Control

The municipality is responsible for the winter maintenance of:

  • municipal parking lots
  • streets networks

The municipality provides:

  • snow plowing
  • snow removal
  • surface treatment (salt/sand application)

to ensure the safe passage of vehicles and pedestrians.  The service is provided using municipal staff and heavy equipment with contracted equipment for snow removal activities.

There is no overnight parking on any Town of Perth street from November 20th through to March 31st. This allows our snow plow operators to clear our streets throughout the evening hours so that they are clear for the next day. Only parking permit holders can park overnight in the municipal lot for which their permit was purchased.

Street lights

The municipality is responsible for the street light networks throughout the municipality in areas along urban streets, in the Business Improvement Area (BIA), in parking lots and in subdivisions. The size and type of light varies throughout the urban boundaries based on the light quality and landscaping features in each area.

To report a problem with a streetlight, please complete the Report a Problem Form.
