Celebrate Canada Day 2024 in Perth!
Join us at the Conlon Farm Recreation Complex to celebrate Canada’s 157th year! We've got an afternoon and evening full of family-friendly fun (and mostly free) for you to enjoy, capping the festivities off with a fireworks show presented by the Perth Firefighters Association.
Tips to prepare for an amazing day at Conlon Farm:
- Bring your swimsuit and towel to cool off at the Splash Pad
- Pack a picnic or grab a meal from the canteen (we'll be giving out free cupcakes in the afternoon too for a sweet treat!)
- Remember to bring water, a hat, and slather on the sunscreen
- Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, and snag a spot on hill for to watch the fireworks
- Got change? The Perth Firefighters' Association will gratefully accept donations at the entrance.

Truth and Reconciliation
Canada Day is an opportunity to show solidarity and to reflect on how to heal from the past mistakes. We would like to encourage everyone to take some time to understand more about truth and reconciliation with the Indigenous peoples of Canada and how we can strengthen the ties that unite us all. With real actions we can heal together and make a better future for everyone.
We encourage you to read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action, and visit Ardoch Algonquin First Nation, Shabot Obaadjiwan Algonquin First Nation, Algonquins of Ontario, and Lanark County Neighbours for Truth and Reconciliation websites.
Make it a long weekend in Perth!
Many businesses are open and ready to serve you. Shop 'til you drop and enjoy a meal (or two!) on a patio, or even take it to go and enjoy a picnic. Grab a treat from a local eatery, such as ice cream, gelato, hand pies, baked goods, cold beverage, sit back and enjoy the scenery. Make it a long weekend and book a reservation, too.
What's Open on Canada Day?
The Downtown Heritage Perth BIA has posted a listing on their Facebook page of which shops, cafes, and restaurants will be open on July 1st. Check it out here!
