All municipalities, regardless of size, are required to prepare annual Accessibility Plans in consultation with persons with disabilities as mandated by the Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2001.
The Accessibility Plan considers barriers to people with disabilities and ways to remove and prevent them. These barriers can include the municipality's by-laws and its policies, programs, practices, and services. The plan describes the history of initiatives to identify, remove and prevent barriers, the operational and decision making reviews achieved and planned and the targets and actions to be taken in each year.
The Town of Perth is committed to enhancing accessibility to enable all people with disabilities to live independently and contribute to the community. Council will endeavour to encourage the full participation of people with disabilities in the development and review of its annual accessibility plan. The following is a list of accessible facilities maintained by the Town.
