Q: Why isn't there a ten-minute parking area for dropping off or picking up patients at the hospital? |
A: All parking at the hospital is administered by the hospital. They can be contacted at 613-264-0638. |
Q: Can I purchase a day-long parking pass? |
A: Daily parking is available at $1.00 per hour. Permits are available for longer periods of time. Monthly passes are available for use in the municipal lots. Q: What do you mean I am parked? I am only stopped. |
A: By-law 3961 Part 1 Definitions, Item 24: Park or parking when prohibited means the standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except when standing temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading merchandise or passengers. |
Q: Can I move to a new location within my two hours of free parking within the free parking area? |
A: A vehicle can be moved to a new location in the Business Improvement Area (BIA) within two hours but that does not extend the two-hour limit and the vehicle cannot come back into the downtown BIA complimentary parking area within five (5) hours from the time the vehicle was initially parked. The Complimentary Parking Program is provided by the Town of Perth and the Downtown Heritage BIA. For further information contact the By-law office at 613-267-3311, extension 2245.
If you need more than two (2) hours of parking please use one of parking lots (see attached map) in the following locations: Wilson Street Lot # 1 (access on Wilson Street just south of Foster Street) , Wilson Street II Lot (next to the Wilson Street # 1 lot), the Herriott Street #1 Lot (next to the Library), the Herriott Street # 2 lot (behind the Museum - enter across from Herriott Lot #1), The Tay Basin Lot (between Gore Street and Drummond at the Crystal Palace) Please note that there is an 8-hour parking limit in all lots. |
Q: If I have an accessible parking permit do I have to pay to park? |
A: Persons who have an accessible parking permit in the vehicle do not have to pay in the parking lots or at street meters. They are entitled to park for up to four (4) hours in the lots and two (2) hours on the street. An accessible parking permit does not allow illegal parking.
