Burn Permits

The Perth Fire Services reminds all residents that they must have an active Burn Permit before any type of burning, including; campfires, chimeneas or any other open air burning.

The Open Air Fire Bylaw #4408 outlines the requirements to obtain a valid Burn Permit.

Eligible residents may request a FREE Burn Permit electronically, or by contacting the Fire Department at 613-267-5574 ext 3 during business hours.  Residents are required to obtain a single permit that is active until 31 December each year.

Please be aware that submitting an application is NOT authorization of your fire permit. Each application is evaluated for accuracy, which may include a site visit by Perth Fire Services. You will be notified if your permit is approved or declined. Please note this evaluation may take up to 10 working days from the date of your application and the notification sent to you.

Approved permit holders must call 1-844-992-2464 to activate their Burn Permit before each burn activity.

If you are having difficulty activating your permit, ensure your Permit is valid for the current year.

Enforcement actions may be taken against anyone who burns in violation of the By-law.

For more information, please call the Perth Fire Services at 613-267-5574 ext 3 or email.
