Keep Cool During the Summer Heat

With the hot weather and humidity this week, we encourage all residents to be aware of the effects of extreme heat. Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a heat warning for the Town of Perth as temperatures are expected to rise into the high thirties during the day – nighttime temperatures are expected to be above 20°C as well.

Snow Clearing Efforts Continue Throughout Perth

Town of Perth staff are continuing to with efforts to address the unprecedented accumulation that was seen through many parts of Southern Ontario. Beginning work at midnight on Sunday evening, crews worked throughout the day and into the evening to clear all town roads, with the entire road network covered by 9:00 p.m. Crews are working to address sidewalk passage on Tuesday, January 18, with both sidewalk blowers being used. Cooling Station Open for Town of Perth Residents

With temperatures rising, the Town is providing a Cooling Station for residents in the multi-purpose room at the Perth & District Indoor Pool at 3 Sunset Blvd. The Cooling Station will be open from 10am-4pm as of today, and will be available Monday-Friday when the temperature is 28°C or higher. Masks and social distancing are required, and accessible washrooms are available.
