As a result of the Province of Ontario Stay at Home order and declaration of a State of Emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the following measures are effective in the Town of Perth as of 14 January, 2021:

  • All municipal facilities (including Town Hall and all indoor recreation facilities) will be closed to walk in traffic. Appointments can be made for essential services. The drop box at the front door of Town Hall remains available to the public.
  • Outdoor recreation facilities such as Conlon Farm (including Toboggan Hill), Last Duel Park, Stewart Park and Darou Farm are open to the public. Social distancing must be followed at all times and gatherings are limited to a maximum of 5 people.
  • The outdoor skating rinks in Stewart Park and at the Fire Hall are open but limited to 5 people on the ice at a time. Social distancing must be followed and masks are recommended. Go to www.perth.ca/outdoorrinks to see the status of the rinks related to weather.
  • All Town departments are open for business. Please contact us by phone or email. All contact information can be found at www.perth.ca/contactus. The main phone number is 613-267-3311.
  • All public meetings, including Council and Committee of the Whole meetings, will be held virtually until further notice. Details on how to connect to these meetings are published in the Agendas posted at www.perth.ca/councilcalendar ;

Mayor John Fenik states, “We are at a very critical juncture with the pandemic and it is extremely important that everyone abides by the Stay at Home order to help reduce the risks that our health care system is facing. With the vaccine coming, there is a light at the end of this tunnel, but we need to do our part now.”

Please continue to be COVID-SMART by practicing physical distancing, staying home when you are sick, washing your hands, and wearing a well-fitting face covering/mask in enclosed indoor spaces and when physical distancing is an issue outdoors. More details can be found through the Leeds Grenville and Lanark Health Unit at https://healthunit.org/
