The Town of Perth is thrilled to announce forward movement with its Active Transportation Plan, awarding the contract to Parsons Inc. after executing a request for proposal process from qualified vendors.
Active modes of transportation are important components of Perth’s transportation landscape. Not only do they contribute to healthier lifestyles and a more vibrant community, they allow people to move through town in a safe, affordable, and efficient manner. The project will review the Town’s current trails, bike lanes, and other transportation outlets, and identify opportunities for enhancing Active Transportation in Perth.
“Perth residents are active, and this is an opportunity for us to look at how we can build more opportunities for active transportation throughout town,” states Cathy McNally, Director of Community Services. “We’re really looking forward to working with Parsons Inc. as their team has an incredible amount of experience working with municipalities, specifically tailored to active transportation.”
Engagement with community partners will take place in early 2024, along with a public information session which will include a presentation of the Draft Pedestrian and Cycling Network. Further details, including meeting dates, will be released as they become available.
