Purpose and Intent of the Zoning By-law is to change the zoning from R3 to R4 on 55 Drummond Street to match the existing zoning of 55 Drummond Street. The proposed residential development would replace an existing 2-storey building with 4 units, remove the accessory structure, and create a 3-storey, 18-unit residential apartment building with 2 accessible units. The two other 4 unit apartment buildings are to remain. The two other 4 unit apartment buildings are to remain. The remainder of the development area is proposed for open space, including a community garden and surface parking area (26 parking spaces with 2 handicap accessible, as well as an electrical charging station). IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the decision of the Town of Perth on the proposed amendments to the Zoning By-law you must make a written request to the Town of Perth at 80 Gore St, Perth ON, K7H 1H9 or by emailing a written request to Joanna Bowes, Director of Development Services noted below.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY would otherwise have the ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Perth to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make an oral submission at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Perth before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Perth before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless in the opinion of the Tribunal there are reasonable grounds to do so.
AFTER A DECISION has been made by Council, persons wishing to formally register an objection must, regardless of any previous submissions, file with the Clerk of the Municipality a Notice of Appeal setting out the objection and the reasons in support of the objection accompanied with the appeal fee to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
