As the province shifts into the next phase of its reopening plan, Town of Perth facilities such as the Indoor Pool, Community Centre, and Perth Museum, along with Town Hall, will reopen to the public beginning January 31st.
Town Hall will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Residents are encouraged to continue to do business online or over the phone when possible. Town staff will continue to limit the number of personnel onsite – appointments are highly recommended in the event assistance is required with a specific staff member.
All public meetings, including Council, Committee of the Whole, and sub-committee meetings, will continue to be held virtually. Details on how to connect to these meetings are published in the Agendas which are posted at perth.ca/councilcalendar. Town Council and Committee of the Whole will continue to be streamed on the Town of Perth Facebook page.
Recreation facilities and the Perth Museum and Visitor Information Centre will be operating at 50% capacity in accordance with provincial guidelines. Masks are mandatory at all facilities, and proof of vaccine with a QR code must be provided by those ages 12 and up at the Indoor Pool and Community Centre. All previously scheduled programming will resume, including swimming lessons and public skates and swims.
“We’re excited to reopen our facilities for our residents to enjoy and stay active during the cold winter month,” states Mayor John Fenik. “Winter can be especially hard on our mental health, especially when coupled with the continued ups and downs of the pandemic. Reopening our facilities will enable residents an opportunity for safe social interaction and fun.”
All residents are encouraged to continue to follow social distancing guidelines, limit contacts, and get vaccinated. More details, including information on vaccine bookings for all ages, is available through the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark Health Unit.
